Why do our club players love the Indoor Season?
Indoor soccer is a fast, intense game in which each player gets much more time with or near the ball, compared with the outdoor game. Players build their ball skills and speed, and enjoy multiple 1-v-1 opportunities.
Due to the fact that indoor facilities limit the age groupings for teams to even years (i.e., U-10, U-12, U-14), as well as the need to optimize the size of the team for the indoor game, it is often necessary to split a team and to sponsor multiple teams at the same age level and perhaps even within the same division.
In all age groups, however, each team coach may decide to keep his outdoor team intact for the indoor sessions. A coach who wants to maintain her or his team chemistry has first priority. If a coach believes that it is in the best interest of the team and the players to split the outdoor team and/or change the division in which the team plays, then he or she may do so.
Players not on a fall team may be added to fill the squads. A coach may fill such openings by recruiting players at his or her discretion, and without open tryouts.
Any player who does not start the indoor session with his or her fall team (injuries excluded), yet decides to return to the HSC indoor program, shall be placed on a team when space is available.
Teams that are added to HSC for the indoor sessions shall be held to the same conditions as all other HSC teams as described above.
